The government of Qatar has issued a furious condemnation of a “cowardly” attack by Israel on Hamas leaders within its capital, Doha. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Majed al-Ansari, described the act as a “flagrant violation of all international laws and norms.”
For years, Qatar has served as a crucial intermediary, hosting Hamas’s political office and facilitating complex negotiations between the group and Israel. Tuesday’s attack fundamentally undermines this role, creating a dangerous precedent.
