Türkiye Becomes Top Muslim Travel Hub After Malaysia in Global Rankings

by admin477351

Türkiye has secured its position as the second most favored travel destination for Muslim tourists worldwide, according to the latest “Muslim Travel Preferences” report by Mastercard and CrescentRating.

This surge in popularity is credited to Türkiye’s deep-rooted Islamic heritage, its expansive tourism infrastructure, and an increasing number of services that cater to the specific needs of Muslim travelers. Key attractions such as the Sultanahmet Mosque in Istanbul, the Mevlana Museum in Konya, and the sacred sites of Şanlıurfa continue to draw faith-based visitors from across the globe.

The report noted a 25% increase in global Muslim travel in 2023, with 176 million travelers recorded — a number expected to rise to 245 million by 2030. Alongside this growth, Türkiye has expanded its offerings with halal-certified restaurants, women-only resorts, and accessible prayer facilities to ensure a seamless experience for observant travelers.

Emerging trends such as halal-focused mobile apps, solo travel among young Muslims, and spiritually enriching retreats are reshaping the landscape. Türkiye’s adaptability and dedication to these evolving preferences have made it a standout destination in the competitive global travel market.
