by admin477351

The Turkish Parliament is set to convene on Tuesday for its weekly session, where significant discussions will take place, including a new bill concerning the Turkish Red Crescent and a presentation from Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan.

The proposed legislation aims to officially designate the Turkish Red Crescent, along with international and foreign Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations, as authorized entities for receiving and utilizing cash and in-kind assistance directed to Türkiye, both in ordinary and emergency situations. Furthermore, the bill suggests compensating Turkish Red Crescent personnel who are actively engaged in fieldwork during disasters, wars, conflicts, and other extraordinary circumstances. Additionally, leaders of provincial and district Red Crescent branches would be integrated into the boards of trustees of local Foundations for Social Assistance and Solidarity.

In a related event, Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan will address the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Committee. His presentation is anticipated to cover a broad spectrum of topics, including global economic developments, Türkiye’s economic landscape, inflation figures, and the framework of the country’s monetary policy.

Moreover, the Parliamentary Public Works, Reconstruction, Transport and Tourism Commission will deliberate on legislation relevant to foreign digital accommodation platforms, which could have implications for the tourism and hospitality sectors in Türkiye.
