Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude chatbot, has successfully raised $30 billion in its latest funding round, more than doubling its valuation to an impressive $380 billion. This massive capital injection represents one of the largest private fundraising deals in corporate history and underscores the intense investor appetite for advanced AI technologies.

The funding round was spearheaded by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC and prominent hedge fund Coatue Management, signaling strong institutional confidence in Anthropic’s enterprise AI capabilities. The company’s valuation has skyrocketed from $183 billion in its September funding round, reflecting rapid technological advancements and growing market demand for its products.

Anthropic’s financial performance has been nothing short of spectacular, with annualized revenue reaching $14 billion after growing more than tenfold in each of the past three years. A key contributor to this explosive growth has been Claude Code, the company’s AI-powered coding tool that launched for general availability in May 2025, capturing significant market share in the developer tools sector.

The company has outlined an aggressive path to profitability, forecasting cash burn reduction to approximately one-third of revenue in 2026 and just 9% by 2027. With a break-even target set for 2028, Anthropic aims to achieve profitability two years ahead of its primary competitor OpenAI, positioning itself as a more fiscally responsible player in the AI landscape.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI executives Dario and Daniela Amodei, Anthropic has carved out a distinctive position as a safety-focused alternative in the competitive AI market. The company recently launched its first television commercials during the Super Bowl, emphasizing its commitment to keeping products ad-free, a strategic differentiation from competitors who have begun incorporating advertising into their platforms.
