President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering disabled citizens during the Disability-Inclusive Century of Türkiye gathering held in Ankara. The event brought together government officials, civil society groups, academics, and private-sector representatives to review national efforts toward disability inclusion.
Erdoğan highlighted the strength and resilience of disabled individuals, noting that their determination inspires society. He expressed appreciation for the growing collaboration among public institutions, local administrations, academia, and the business community in addressing the needs of disabled citizens.
The president outlined key advancements, including expanded special education services, increased employment opportunities in the public sector, and significant growth in home-care assistance programs. He also reaffirmed Türkiye’s dedication to international advocacy for disability rights and stressed the importance of compassionate governance.
Looking ahead, Erdoğan noted that the country’s 2030 Inclusive Vision continues to guide long-term strategies in education, employment, and technology. Preparations are underway for the next national disability action plan, set to cover 2026–2028. The event concluded with recognition of organizations and individuals contributing to improved accessibility and inclusion.
