Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stressed that Türkiye has never and will never bargain with terrorist organizations, vowing that no step will be taken to dishonor the memory of the nation’s martyrs.
Speaking at a ceremony, Kurtulmuş underlined that Türkiye’s unity and resilience are vital as the country remains at the center of regional and global struggles. He emphasized that the government is pursuing the vision of a “Terror-Free Türkiye”, aiming to permanently eliminate terrorism that has burdened the nation for decades.
The initiative seeks to strengthen national solidarity, dismantle terrorist structures, and ensure peace through cross-party cooperation. Kurtulmuş highlighted that representatives from across the political spectrum are engaged in efforts to prevent any return to violence and to promote unity.
He echoed calls from civil society to “bury weapons, not children,” expressing hope for a future where no more families lose loved ones to terrorism. The initiative is expected to continue throughout the year, with recommendations set to be presented to Parliament for further action.
